Movers & Shakers returns to Indian TV after 10 years

Cult comedy show Movers and Shakers is to return to Indian television screens on Monday (12 March) following a decade long break.

Shekhar Suman, the star of the original topical show, will once again entertain viewers during the series return, to be aired by SAB TV from Monday to Friday at 10.30pm.

"Shekhar is an icon as far as the television industry is concerned. He has essayed many diverse roles and has a huge fan following. Movers and Shakers is making a comeback after a decade but people have still not forgotten it primarily due to Shekhar's trademark style and wit," said Anooj Kapoor, executive vice president and business head, SAB.

"The second season is going to be a new challenge for Shekhar because the audience he is speaking to this time is the entire family. However, given his versatility we are sure that he will be able to carry it off successfully."

This time round Shekhar will focus on celebrity stories, along with what SAB TV calls 'must see elements, street segments and a common man' element.

I'm extremely excited to be back with Movers and Shakers. It's a cult show and a great platform to reconnect with the people as well as be the common man's voice. The show this time will be incisive, irreverent, endearing and entertaining all at the same time!" said Shekhar Suman.
