UTV seals movie deals worth INR 150 crore

UTV has secured the rights to show a raft of recent box office hits on its Indian satellite TV channels, for a total of almost INR 150 crore.

The blockbusting films reportedly include Ek Main Aur Ekk Tu, Paan Singh Tomar and Tere Naal Love Ho Gaya, Barfi!, Heroine, Rowdy Rathore and Joker.

A further deal, to secure the television rights for Race 2, ABCD, Luv Shuv Tey Chicken Khurana and Ghanchakkar!, is currently under negation, says the Times of India.

"At UTV we have consistently focused on quality, which reflects in the confidence that satellite channels have in doing deals with us for our forthcoming movies, as they are guaranteed great content," Siddharth Roy Kapur, chief executive, UTV Motion Pictures, told the newspaper.

The television rights deals are for a period of seven years.
