Live matches from the current World Series Hockey tournament in India will now be available to global viewers online, following a partnership between the event organisers Nimbus Sport and Google's digital video site YouTube.
Fans the world over will now be able to watch the remaining league matches, as well as the semi-finals on 1 April and the final on 2 April, via the dedicated channel: www.youtube.com/wsh.
The tournament, played in India, includes eight franchised teams, namely the Bhopal Badshahs, Candigargh Comets, Chennai Cheetahs, Delhi Wizards, Karnataka Lions, Mumbai Warriors, Pune Strykers and Sher-e-Punjab.
"The historic inaugural edition of Bridgestone World Series Hockey already has many firsts to its credit and this partnership with YouTube has taken the league to all the global fans. The response on the online space is extremely overwhelming and we're excited to take this fantastic tournament to hockey fans across the globe," said Yannick Colaco, chief operating officer, Nimbus Sport.
