China beckons for India’s Zee TV

Zee TV has become the first Indian TV network to enter the Chinese market following six years of negotiations.

A landing agreement has been provided to the broadcaster by CTV-STVP, the sole agent authorised by China to distribute the foreign channels in the country.

The agreement now allows leading Chinese hotels to broadcast Indian content from the Zee TV Asia Pacific Channel, according to the Press Trust of India.

The channel offers a variety of programmes including comedy, drama series, Bollywood movies, mini-series, children's programmes, game shows, late night shows, and Marathi shows and movies - along with English subtitles.
