ESPN Star Sports brings new motorcycle show to Asia

ESPN Star Sports (ESS) is introducing its Asian audience to a new motorcycle racing programme called 2 Wheels, to run concurrently with the MotoGP season.

Showing each Thursday evening at 8pm on Star Sports in India, 2 Wheels focuses on premier motorcycle road racing series, including MotoGP and the SuperBike World Championships. The programme will also cover SuperEnduro endurance racing and off road action in the X-Trail World Championships.

Paula Malai Ali will host the show, which will also feature interviews with stars of the sport including Valentino Rossi, Casey Stoner, Nicky Hayden and Jorge Lorenzo.

"We have witnessed a growth in traction for the motor racing genre, and the new programme aims to tap into the robust viewership across Asia for premier motorcycle races," said Craig Dobbs, executive vice president, programming and production, ESPN Star Sports.

"While we continue to build on our growing portfolio of motorsports content, we see the need to present shows that appeal to motorcycle racing fans. This firmly demonstrates our continuous effort to serve our sports fans, while offering an excellent promotional platform for potential advertisers."

ESS holds the rights to broadcast the MotoGP World Championship on multiple distribution platforms across 24 countries in Asia until 2016.
