South Asian entertainment from the News Corp-owned Star TV network is to be carried on Time Warner Cable in the US, following a deal with International Media Distribution.
Popular Hindi language channels Star India Plus, Star India Gold, Life OK and Star India News will be available in certain markets.
"This collaboration between our two major companies, Star TV and Time Warner Cable, will offer an increased distribution to reach and entertain more viewers," said Rajan Singh, executive vice president of international business for Star TV.
"Our existing viewers already appreciate Star TV's wholesome entertainment for the entire family. This beneficial partnership will complement and enhance the array of channels being offered on Time Warner Cable to a new group of viewers."
The deal has been reached in time for Time Warner Cable customers to tune in to the hotly anticipated TV show debut from Bollywood star Aamir Khan. Star India Plus will air Satyamev Jayate – reportedly the most expensive TV programme ever made in India - every Sunday from 6 May at 11:00am ET.
Other programming highlights include Diya Aur Baati Hum on Monday to Friday at 9:00pm ET; Iss Pyaar Ko Kya Naam Doon, from Monday to Friday at 8:00pm ET; and Saath Nibhaana Saathiya, from Monday to Friday at 7:00pm ET.
Star TV Plus is now distributed to over 43 million homes across the globe.
