Nat Geo plans for Fox Traveller HD launch in India

National Geographic Channel Network has unveiled plans to soon launch a high definition (HD) television version of Fox Traveller in India.

The news comes after the network received approval from the Foreign Investment Promotion Board for uplinking and downlinking television channels through internal accruals without any foreign inflows, reports Indian Television.

"The industry is moving towards new technologies. If you look at the sale of LEDs and LCD TV sets, you will realize that the consumer is upgrading. We have to follow them," Debarpita Banerjee, vice president of marketing, international channels, is quoted as saying by the online publication.

"We have not finalized a date for launching the HD feed of Fox Traveller but it will be soon," she added.

HD feeds of the National Geographic Channel, Nat Geo Wild and Nat Geo Adventure are already available in India.
