Starsports.com to stream Indian F1 Grand Prix

Star India’s starsports.com is to stream live video of the 2013 Formula One (F1) Indian Grand Prix in a content tie up with McLaren Mercedes which will also see the team cars, driven by Jenson Button and Sergio Perez, adopt its logo.

The qualifying and final races, on 25-27 October, will be streamed live to starsports.com subscribers, along with statistics and exclusive video content featuring the two drivers, team principal Martin Whitmarsh, and sporting director Sam Michael.

“We believe this partnership will help in promoting starsports.com as the definitive destination for sports on digital,” said Vijay Rajput, chief operating officer, ESPN Software.

“We will present an unrivalled live video experience as well as a place for replays and catch-up. The service will feature original content not screened on television, including outstanding video stories and insightful contributions from experts.”
Financial details of the tie up between starsports.com and the McLaren F1 team have not been disclosed.

The Internet platform also streams live cricket, matches from the Indian Badminton League, and football courtesy of the English Premier League.
