Sony Entertainment TV's comedy channel SAB TV will now be available free-to-air (FTA) in San Francisco, following a carriage deal between KFTL TV28 and the channel's owners Multi Screen Media (MSM).
"SAB TV is a strong addition to KFTL's high quality line-up of programming reflecting the cultural diversity of the San Francisco, Oakland, San Jose community that we are so proud to serve," said Ian Milne, general manager, KFTL.
The deal, which will bring SAB to 1.7 million households in the Bay area, will provide SAB TV with the largest FTA reach of any South Asian channel in North America, according to MSM.
It is already available in the US' largest designated market area (DMA), New York, and channel 44.4 in the fifth largest DMA – Dallas/Fort Worth – with a combined reach of over ten million households.
To access the channel without subscription, viewers need a digital TV-capable UHF antenna hooked to their television sets.
