Life TV adds to Star India’s GEC success

Star India's second general entertainment channel (GEC) Life OK, which launched four weeks ago, has jumped to 100 gross rating points, according to new television audience monitoring data from TAM.

The channel's popularity helps consolidate Star India's strength in general entertainment alongside its flagship channel, Star Plus, which traditionally leads the pack in generating about 300 gross ratings points.

Saubhayawati Bhav, produced by UTV Television and aired at 10pm on Life OK, is leading the new channel's line-up with an average of 2.4 television ratings points (TVR). The BBC Worldwide Productions show Mai Laxmi Tere Angan Ki, which is on at 9.40pm, is averaging 1.4 TVR.

For the week ended 7 January, TAM data showed that Star Plus, Sony Entertainment Television (SET), Colors and Zee TV continued to hold the four top spots in India's cable and satellite TV general entertainment genre.
