India to become largest DTH market in the world, says Frost & Sullivan

Frost & Sullivan will be hosting a free webinar entitled “The Direct-to-Home (DTH) and Internet Protocol Television (IPTV) Market in India", on 4 December 2012 at 3:30pm IST.

The analyst firm says that the Indian DTH market is expected to grow at a CAGR of 13.2% to reach 100 million subscribers by 2018. While the DTH market is on an exceptional growth trajectory, the IPTV market in India is still in its early days and is expected to grow at a CAGR of 79.5% to reach 6 million subscribers by 2018.

According to a Frost & Sullivan analyst, "Riding high on the digitisation mandate, the DTH market is on an unprecedented growth trajectory, and India is set to become the largest DTH market in the world. Growing television penetration, emerging middle class and rising disposable income has resulted in increased spending and rising demand for quality viewing experience".

The webinar is aimed at telecom operators, broadcasters, DTH and IPTV vendors, multiple system operators, set top box manufacturers and distributors, internet service providers, OFC manufacturers and equipment vendors. It will discuss the emerging trends in the DTH and IPTV market and provide forward projections for the Indian pay TV services market.
