Istikana and Everymedia in Bollywood VOD deal

Istikana has signed a deal to provide the MENA region with Bollywood content from Everymedia Technologies.

The agreement includes the screening of around 200 premium Bollywood film titles on Istikana’s video platforms.

Istikana co-founder Tareq Abu-Lughod said: “Bollywood is one of the most important film hubs in the world in terms of the number of films being produced. We shall showcase some of the best films Bollywood has to offer to many fans around the world."

Head of content alliances and syndication at Everymedia, Vishvendra Sharma, said: “The MENA is a huge market for Indian entertainment content... There is no theatrical or DVD release of Indian movies in this region, making Internet, VOD, mobile an integral platform for content delivery to the audience."

Abu-Lughod added: “EveryMedia is a leading player in the digital content space with a strong foothold in Bollywood. It has a capability of offering viewers the flexibility and convenience of watching a bouquet of content to watch any time, any place and on any device and this is exactly what we provide at Istikana.”

Sharma concluded: "With Istikana’s growing popularity and subscriber base in the MENA region, we are confident that Indian content will become more popular. Associating with Istikana gives both companies a first mover advantage with the kind of content we have to offer. We are looking forward to a great experience."
