ALi Corporation has announced its set-top box chipsets are now incorporating middleware solutions from Bangalore-based ACCESS STB Labs in an effort to provide affordable end-to-end systems for the growing digital television market.

"We are confident that ALi's proven integrated STB SoC and STB Labs' middleware solutions will create tailored solutions for operators that enable them to generate more ARPU."

By conjoining efforts with ACCESS STB Labs, we hope to create additional values for the Indian market, including increased revenue for operator customers and enhanced experience for end users."
The first partnership project includes ALi's SD solution, M3281, integrated with ACESS STB Labs' iMediaConnect, to will allow multi system operators (MSOs) to deliver what the companies call a "good looking EPG, value-added services, and advertisements in a most cost effective way".
In addition, ALi's hybrid HD solution, M3715, will also incorporate STB Labs' technology to enrich set top box features, enabling operators to offer broadband and television services, browsers, two-way interactive applications, advertisements, and games.
