DQE to coproduce new Spanish format kids animation

Hyderabad-based DQ Entertainment is combining forces with Spain’s Imira Entertainment, Enne Entertainment Studios and broadcaster TVE to produce a new 3D animated series called Escape Hockey.

Aimed at children between the ages of six and 12, Enne Entertainment’s Escape Hockey is a space adventure comedy, about a boy called Dan and his friends who are abducted to a prison planet called Plutonium.

In order to escape, he must compete with dangerous prisoners to win the greatest sporting event in the galaxy, the Escape Hockey tournament.

“The watch and play format will be a great attraction for the children viewing the series,” said Tapaas Chakravarti, chairman and chief executive of DQE Group. “We are sure that the combined synergies of DQE, Imira and Enne Animation will make Escape Hockey a great success worldwide.”

Two versions of the series will be produced: a standard TV series and an interactive version which allows the viewer to both watch and simultaneously play a game.
