A television channel to cover a nascent Twenty20 (T20) cricket league is being considered by the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB), according to Indiantelevision.com.
A franchise-based T20 league, carved in the mould of the high octane Indian Premier League (IPL), is to be established in Bangladesh in the first quarter of 2011. The league will, hopes the BCB, attract prominent international cricketers as well new players within the South Asian nation.
A committee has reportedly now been established by the BCB to help expedite the launch of an accompanying television channel. It will be chaired by Mohammed Jalal Yunus, chairman of the Media and Communications Committee. He will be joined by Dewan Shafiul Arefin and Siraj Uddin Md Alamgir.
