Digivive unveils free mobile app for live TV, VOD

Digivive has launched a free application called nexGTv to provide India's mobile users with access to live TV channels and video on demand (VOD) services.

The app, which works on Android, Symbian and BlackBerry mobile operating systems, offers both national and regional TV channels with their range of news, entertainment, music, movies and religious programming.

Live channels include the Star TV bouquet, Aaj Tak, Doordarshan (DD), India TV, CNEB, Fashion One, Aastha, NDTV 24x7, NDTV Profit, and NDTV Goodtimes.

BR Chopra's Mahabharat series, films and short movies (20 minute edits of full length films) are among the VOD offerings available through the nextGTv app.

"With nexGTv we bring live TV and video on demand to customers on the go. With nexGTv our customers can catch up on latest news and entertainment on their mobile devices wherever and whenever they want to," said GD Singh, executive director, Digivive Services.

Rohit Sawhney, senior vice president of operations, added: "With close to a million downloads already, the product offers high quality live TV and video viewing experience on both 2G and 3G networks, and supports all popular mobile device platforms like Symbian, Android, BlackBerry etc."

Full screen viewing, fast channels launch and switching, an integrated electronic programme guide, interactive on-screen controls, picture-in-picture mode, brightness control, volume control and adaptive bit-rate streaming are all features of the app.
