CASBAA sets sights on India beyond digital TV

Issues affecting multichannel television in India, particularly in the run up to mandatory cable TV digitisation, are to be addressed at the CASBAA India Forum in New Delhi on 20 March.

"Recognising the capacity for massive growth tempered by regulatory and logistical challenges, CASBAA continues to focus its attention on the multichannel TV industry in India," said Simon Twiston Davies, chief executive, CASBAA.

Keynote speeches and panel discussions will be given by senior officials from the Indian government, Uday K Varma (secretary, Ministry of Information and Broadcasting), JS Sarma (chairman, Telecommunications Regulatory Authority of India) and Supriya Sahu (joint secretary (Broadcast & Policy), Ministry of Information and Broadcasting).

In addition, other participants at the CASBAA Forum include Sanjay Behl (chief executive, DTH & IPTV and group head of Brand & Marketing, Reliance Communications), Paul Brown-Kenyon (chief executive, Measat), Rajiv Khattar (general secretary, DTH Association of India), Sunil Lulla (treasurer, IBF; managing director and chief executive, Times TV Network), Ashok Mansukhani (president, MSO Alliance), Deepak Mathur (senior vice president, sales, Asia Pacific and the Middle East, SES), Harit Nagpal (managing director and chief executive, Tata Sky), Anil Prakash (general secretary, IPTV India Forum), Narayan Rao (president, News Broadcasters Association; executive vice chairperson, NDTV), Vikram Sakhuja (chief executive, GroupM South Asia), Roop Sharma (COFI), Sadanand Shetty (vice president and senior fund manager, Taurus Asset Management) and RC Venkateish (chief executive, Dish TV).

The Cable and Satellite Broadcasting Association of Asia (CASBAA) India Forum 2102: Beyond Digital will be held at the Shangri-La Hotel, New Delhi.
