Spuul to stream Indian TV shows

Online video platform Spuul has extended its deal with IndiaCast, the Viacom18 and TV18 distribution venture, to stream popular programming from Colors, MTV India and Eenadu TV (ETV).

The new deal comprises a host of popular programmes, including Colors' Comedy Nights with Kapil, Balika Vadhu, Uttaran, Sanskaar, Bani, Madhubala and Sasural Simar Ka, plus MTV India's Timeout with Imam and Webbed.

"Colors and MTV are leading channels across the general entertainment and youth space in the Indian television market," said Prakash Ramchandani, CEO India, Spuul.

"By bringing shows of Colors, MTV India and ETV channels to our platform, we plan to give our users an instant and continued access to their favourite shows at their convenience. This association with IndiaCast only highlights our proposition of providing entertainment on the go."

The deal follows one between the two parties in May 2013, which brought over 60 films from the content library of Viacom18 Motion Pictures, Colors and ETV become available to Spuul users.

Anuj Gandhi, CEO, IndiaCast Media Distribution, added: "Spuul makes popular Indian entertainment content available on Internet-connected devices through its platform. We are pleased to partner with Spuul to offer consumers our premium TV content and movies at their convenience, anytime, anywhere."

Access to premium video content on Spuul is by subscription, whatever the platform – which is supported by PCs, iOS and Android-based tablets and smartphones – and it also provides free Indian movies.
