Da Vinici Learning seals deals with Indian cable, DTH platforms

The family educational TV channel Da Vinci Learning has secured carriage on Indian direct-to-home (DTH) platform Airtel Digital TV, as well as leading multi-system operators' (MSO) Siticable and Digicable, ahead of its Indian launch later this year.

The deal with Airtel Digital TV will see Da Vinci provide 150 hours of content to the platform, which will be made available in the children's section of its video-on-demand (VOD) service. Meanwhile, Siticable will receive a six-month branded black, and DigiCable will have a 12-month branded block of DaVinci programming.

"For us, this is a great platform to showcase the interesting and interactive programming that we have to offer to the Indian audience. We are positive that these associations will enable the Indian viewers to be part of a meaningful and fun learning experience focused on educational shows and documentaries from around the world," said Mohit Anand, managing director, India, Da Vinci Learning.

The channel, which is targeted at 4-14-year-olds and their parents, covers an array of subjects from physics and chemistry to history and nature. Programmes include Kid Detectives, Lab Rats Challenge, Logo Animation and Indent Kid.
