Sony Six wins TV rights for Euro 2016, World Cup 2018 qualifiers

Indian sports channel Sony Six has extended its deal with UEFA to air the qualifiers for the Euro 2016 football tournament, as well as the finals in France themselves, and to follow those with live action from the FIFA World Cup 2018 qualifying matches across Europe.

The Multi Screen Media (MSM)-owned channel will now provide coverage of 546 international matches in total, over three years, starting with the UEFA Euro 2016 qualifiers from September 2014 to November 2015, and then the FIFA World Cup qualifiers within Europe between September 2016 and November 2017.

"The Qualifiers starting from 2014 through 2017 will set the stage for two of the biggest tournaments in World Football - the UEFA Euro 2016 and 2018 FIFA World Cup. These are exciting times for all sports fans and we are delighted to bring such world class sporting events to their homes," said Man Jit Singh, CEO, MSM India.
