Dual language launch for India's BIG RTL Thrill

The English feed of BIG RTL Thrill – the joint venture channel from Reliance Broadcast Network Ltd (RBNL) and the RTL Group – will be launched on 12 June, expanding its geographical reach to 17 million homes across India.

The channel currently broadcasts international content dubbed in Hindi to the metros of Delhi, Mumbai, Kolkata, and the states of Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan and Haryana.

The action-based programming, which is targeted at men aged between 15-44, includes M1, Fear Factor, Hole in the Wall, Wipe Out and Distraction. It currently reaches 11 million households, according to RBNL.

"We want to emulate the same success which we have achieved in Hindi-speaking markets. With the dual feed, new shows and phase II of digitisation being implemented, we are confident that the channel will find an enhanced relevant male audience base," Sunil Kumaran, RBNL business head for regional TV, told PTI.

BIG RTL Thrill is available on direct-to-home (DTH) satellite TV, as well as digital cable TV platforms including those of Reliance Digital TV, Digicable, Siti Cable, In cable, Hathway Digital, 7 Star Cable, JPR Global Satellite and Star Broadband.
