Ten Sports, Zee Entertainment’s sports network, has signed a five-year broadcasting rights agreement with the brand new Elite Football League of India (EFLI) the country's first professional American football league.
The deal will see Ten broadcasting approximately 370 matches across cable and satellite, terrestrial, IPTV, HITS, DTH, mobile, internet and other distribution platforms.
The broadcaster has acquired rights for India, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, Nepal, Maldives, Bhutan, Afghanistan, Myanmar, Europe, US, Caribbean, Australia & New Zealand, South Africa, the Middle East, and South-east Asia.
Zee Sports Business CEO Atul Pande said: "We are delighted to partner with Elite Football League of India. We are looking forward for high decibel games with loads of excitement and passion."
The first season of EFLI will start from September 2012 with teams such as India, Pakistan and Sri-Lanka participating in it. The company will broadcast four matches per week — Saturday, Sunday, Monday and Tuesday through its broadcast channels Ten Sports and Ten Action.
