Sun TV Network posted a 13.1% increase in third-quarter net profit as advertising revenue rebounded during the festive season.
The Chennai-based company posted net profit of Rs 188.98 crore or Rs 4.82 per share, compared with Rs 167.88 crore or Rs 4.26 per share in the corresponding quarter last year.
Its quarterly income from operations grew by 14% to Rs 485.86 crore from the Rs 425.11 crore compared with the same period last year, while other income was Rs 10.55 crore, compared with Rs 23.21 crore for the same period last year.
Sun reported a growth of 20% in advertising income to Rs 293 crore, compared with Rs 244.23 crore in the same period last year.
Rival broadcaster Zee Entertainment posted a net profit growth of 40.5% to Rs 193.3 crore for the third quarter, while advertising revenue grew 28.8% to Rs 509.4 crore.
